Mike is a very thorough and competent Osteopath who has gained my complete trust. Having seen a variety of different Osteopaths over many years with my back problems I can honestly say that he is one of the best. He not only fixes me but also explains the problem, which to be honest had never happened before. I now have a regime of exercises to follow to keep out of trouble and continue to see him regularly for essential ‘back maintenance. Thanks Mike! John :: BOLTON

What is it…?

A form of manual therapy using the hands to apply varying amounts of pressure on the muscles and over the joints of the body.

You don’t need to be injured to receive massage it is a great way to monitor your general state of health and well being and is also a great form of body maintenance.

With a variety of movements (strokes) the hands apply light – heavy pressure on the muscles to stretch and work the tissues which in turn can affect the joints and limbs.

Gentle rocking and stretching of the limbs can also be included.

Your first treatment will include a detailed general history of your current lifestyle, hobbies, activities, employment and questions on any current medication you may be taking and any previous injuries you may have had.

You will be asked to perform simple movements for the part of your body which will be treated, leg, arm, neck or spine to provide an overall impression on your general mobility.

You will be asked to undress down to sports shorts/ tracksuit bottoms (for Him) and sports shorts/leggings and sports bra (for her.)

With origins dating back approximately 2500 years Thai Yoga Massage or Traditional Thai Massage is a unique ancient therapeutic and powerful healing art that has been an integral part of traditional Thai medicine. The practitioner uses his or her thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint and spine mobilizations and assisted yoga stretches. Using bodyweight instead of strength and a steady and meditative rhythm the practitioner helps the patient’s body release blocked energy and aid in restoring balance and harmony.
